For participants in the upcoming Miracle Making Week:
You’ve already taken the first important step: You decided that you are ready to make a significant change in your life, and you declared your intention. You decided that NOW is a good time for a transformation and you are poised to take some actions to bring that about.
Now what? Well, there’s so much I’d like to share with you that I’ve been wondering where to begin. But we can relax about that, because the deciding factor — the one that opens the door to real change — is the one you brought with you. When you said “count me in!” you made a shift from wishing and hoping to deciding to create some positive changes in your life.
I’m going to assume that you want those changes enough to do some things differently. You are willing to open your mind to new insights, to let go of old biases, to reconsider some of your old beliefs and behaviors. Even if you didn’t realize it at the time, you made your first step toward becoming a new person — a person whose life is working well in the area where you are currently seeking miracles.
So to get you started, I’m going to ask you to reflect on the following question. In his book Being the Solution, Darel Rutherford repeatedly asks, “Who would you be BEING if that (area of your life) was no longer a problem?”
To put it more positively: Who would you be BEING if this area of your life was working perfectly?
Really, really pause and reflect on this. How would you move through your day? How would you carry yourself? Would there be a glow about you, a sparkle in your eyes, a new resonance in your voice, a spring in your step? How would you think and feel? How would YOU — your actual way of BEING in the world — be different?
Before reading further, please stop for a few moments and capture the sense of joy, relief and peace you would feel if this area of your life was absolutely perfect and satisfying in every way. Close your eyes, breathe in this wonderful feeling, and let go of all anxiety and tension. Bask in this timeless moment of well-being.
Now please mentally move forward in time and capture the feeling you would have if you had been living your ideal life for several months. It is now your natural, normal, everyday way of living. See if you can touch that state emotionally. How does it feel?
At this point various doubts and limiting beliefs may make their presence felt. That’s all right; in fact it’s a sign of progress: You’ve flushed to the surface some of the habits of thought that have kept you stuck in undesirable patterns up to now. Just relax, breathe, and remember what it feels like to touch — even for a moment — the state where “all is well” with you and your life.
That’s a great start for today. If you will do this twice each day (once before getting out of bed, and once before you go to sleep) you will be sending powerful messages to all parts of your being (including your subconscious mind and your Higher Self) that THIS is what you intend and choose for yourself. You will be aligning in more ways than you can imagine, and your entire being will start to move you in directions that help to bring about the desired changes.
Be prepared for meaningful dreams (I suggest keeping a notebook by your bed), flashes of insight and/or nudges from your intuition. Watch for “coincidences” and synchronicities that bring people, ideas, resources and opportunities your way.
One of the best ways to encourage the flow of inspiration and insight is to write down these ideas as soon as they occur to you — in a safe place, for your eyes only. That’s a very clear signal to your deep mind and Higher Self that you mean business, and are ready and willing to act on the help you receive.
